‹›
  1. 1

Our God and God of our fathers!

  3. 3

The pure-handed One will increase His force,

  4. 4

His power will grow and wax.

  5. 5

    Were it not in Scripture

  6. 6

    one could not say it:

  7. 7

The proud One wrapped Himself like a chazan

  8. 8

    and declared the thirteen attributes.

  9. 9

He caused the words of His glory to pass

  10. 10

and showed Moshe the tied knot [of His T’filin].

  11. 11

He prepared him and told him,

  12. 12

“So long as My sons sin,

  13. 13

let them perform this order before Me—

  14. 14

it is My attribute to forgive—

  15. 15

    I am Adonoy, Adonoy,

  16. 16

    gracious before you sin

  17. 17

and gracious after you sin and repent.

  18. 18

These are My ways and methods.”

  19. 19

Good and forgiving, Master of kindliness,

    to forgive and pardon,

  26. 26

    increasing Your mercy and kindliness.

  27. 27

Who like You teaches that penitence heals,

  28. 28

    חָסִיד וְרוֹפֵא אֻמָּן.

    kindly One and master healer;

    the patient coming to you.

  33. 33

    expects to pay his wage,

  47. 47

    that is not praiseworthy.

  77. 77

  78. 78

    as You made them known

  79. 79

to the humble Moses of old,

  80. 80

    as it is written,

  81. 81

“And Adonoy descended in the cloud,

  82. 82

    and stood with him there,

  83. 83

    and proclaimed the Name, Adonoy.

  84. 84

    Congregation and Chazzan:

  85. 85

And Adonoy passed before him [Moses],

  86. 86

    and proclaimed:

    Adonoy, Adonoy,

  88. 88

and Abundant in Kindness, and Truth.

  91. 91

    Keeper of kindness

  92. 92

    Endurer of iniquity, and transgression,

  94. 94

    וְחַטָּאָה

    and sin;

  95. 95

and Acquitter of those who repent.

  96. 96

“And pardon our iniquity and our sin,

  97. 97

and take us for Your inheritance.”

  98. 98

Pardon us our Father, for we have sinned,

  99. 99

forgive us our King, for we have transgressed.

  100. 100

    “For You, my Master,

  101. 101

    are good and forgiving,

  102. 102

    and abounding in kindness

  103. 103

to all who call upon You.”

  104. 104

    Then will You desire

  105. 105

    the offerings of the righteous,

  106. 106

    עוֹלָה וְכָלִיל

    the burnt-offering—burnt meal-offering;

  107. 107

then upon Your altar will be brought up

  108. 108

    [offerings of] bullocks.

  109. 109

You will grant truth to Jacob

  110. 110

    kindliness to Abraham,

  111. 111

as You have sworn to our fathers,

  112. 112

    from the days of old.

  113. 113

    And the kindness of Adonoy

  114. 114

    is forever and ever

  115. 115

    upon those who fear Him

  116. 116

    and His righteousness

  117. 117

    upon children’s children.

  118. 118

As a father has compassion on his children

  119. 119

so do You have compassion on us, Adonoy.

  120. 120

    לַיהֹוָה הַיְשׁוּעָה,

    Deliverance is Adonoy’s;

  121. 121

upon Your people is Your blessing. Selah!

  122. 122

Adonoy of Hosts is with us,

  123. 123

a stronghold for us is the God of Jacob. Selah!

  124. 124

    Adonoy of Hosts!

  125. 125

fortunate is the man who trusts in You.

  126. 126

    יְהֹוָה הוֹשִֽׁיעָה,

    Adonoy, deliver us;

  127. 127

the King will answer us on the day we call.

  128. 128

“Please pardon the sins of this nation

  129. 129

    in accordance with the greatness

  130. 130

    חַסְדֶּֽךָ.

    of Your lovingkindness;

  131. 131

and as You forgave this people

  132. 132

from when it left Egypt until now.”

  133. 133

    And there it is said:

  134. 134

    “And Adonoy said,

  135. 135

I have pardoned [them] as you have asked.”

  136. 136

Incline Your ear, my God, and hear,

  137. 137

open Your eyes and behold our desolate places,

  138. 138

    וְהָעִיר אֲשֶׁר נִקְרָא שִׁמְךָ עָלֶֽיהָ

    and the city which is called by Your Name;

  139. 139

for it is not on account of our righteousness

  140. 140

that we let fall our supplication before You,

  141. 141

but because of Your great mercy.

  142. 142

My Master, hear! My Master, pardon!

  143. 143

My Master, listen and take action,

  144. 144

    do not delay!

  145. 145

    For Your sake, my God,

  146. 146

    because Your Name is proclaimed

  147. 147

over Your city and over Your people.
