The Book of Gates of Righteousness [Sefer Sha'arei Tzedek] authored by the wise Rabbi Yosef ben Karnitol, son of the honorable Rabbi Avraham, son of R.I.T., the author of the book Gates of Light [Sha'arei Orah]; in righteousness and in justice is his work, to enter into the innermost palace of the Divine Kabbalah, and it shall be righteousness for us when we bring to light the secrets of wisdom. Gates of Righteousness. After light has shone upon us in the book Gates of Light, which has already been printed. And it shall be accounted to us as righteousness. And in righteousness you shall behold His face. For you will understand and know the secret of Kabbalah. As "one who comes to purify himself, they open [the way] for him." And the gates have not been locked. All of them are set upon the earth, and its top reaches unto heaven, and the Work of the Chariot [Ma'aseh Merkavah]. Lift up your heads, O ye gates. And righteousness, righteousness shall you pursue. Turn it over and turn it over, for everything is in it. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving. Then the tongue will sing. Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter into them, I will praise the Lord.
