    "וְרֹחַב הָאֻלָם" מִמִּזְרָח לְמַעֲרָב "עַשְׁתֵּי עֶשְׂרֵה אַמָּה" (יחזקאל מ, מט).

    “The width of the Ulam” – from east to west – “was 11 cubits.”1Yechezkel 40:49.

    וְחַלּוֹנִים אֲטֻמוֹת וְתִמֹרִים מִפּוֹ וּמִפּוֹ אֶל כִּתְפוֹת הָאוּלָם (יחזקאל מא, כו), פֵּרוּשׁ לִשְׁנֵי עֶבְרֵי הַפֶּתַח.

    “There were narrowing windows and date palm designs on either side on the flanks2The verse uses the word כתפות, which literally means “shoulders.” of the Ulam,” 3Yechezkel 41:26 i.e., at each side of the entrance.
