והנה מלאכי אלהים עולים ויורדים בו, הבעל שם טוב זצוק"ל המשיך לזה העולם מלאכים, ואמר, אסתכילו לא אסתכל באפיכון, כי מסתמא כשבראם הבורא יתברך שמו שיהיו בשמים, אינני צריך לראותן, רק לשאול אותם מה הוא העבדות שלהם, אפשר שיהיה יכולת לקבל מהם גם הוא דרך עבדות זה, לעבוד גם כן כך את הבורא יתברך שמו: (בסוף ספר דברי ישראל).
And he dreamed, and behold a ladder standing upon the earth, and its top reached up to heaven; and behold the angels of G‑d were going up and down on it. (Genesis 28:12) The Baal Shem Tov brought angels down into this world. But he said “I am not going to look into their faces; for, since the Creator made them to be in heaven, I probably don’t need to see them. I will only ask them how they serve G‑d. Perhaps I can learn their mode of service, and serve G‑d the same way. Divrei Yisroel
