You shall surely tithe the produce of your seed, which the field brings forth every year. (Ibid. 14:22) Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and put Me to the test with that, says the L-rd of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you blessing immeasurable (ad bli dai). (Malachi 3:10) Until your lips are worn out from saying, “Enough – Dai!”6Ta’anis 9a. The gemara is making a play on the words ad BLi dai, reading them, ad sh’yiBaLeh – “until your lips are worn out” – from saying dai. But the word dai isn’t pronounced with the lips at all!
