תהילים 87

לִבְנֵי־קֹ֭רַח מִזְמ֣וֹר שִׁ֑יר יְ֝סוּדָת֗וֹ בְּהַרְרֵי־קֹֽדֶשׁ׃

^aThe meaning of many passages in this psalm is uncertain. Of the Korahites. A psalm. A song.

אֹהֵ֣ב יְ֭הֹוָה שַׁעֲרֵ֣י צִיּ֑וֹן מִ֝כֹּ֗ל מִשְׁכְּנ֥וֹת יַעֲקֹֽב׃

the gates of Zion—
GOD loves
more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

נִ֭כְבָּדוֹת מְדֻבָּ֣ר בָּ֑ךְ עִ֖יר הָאֱלֹהִ֣ים סֶֽלָה׃

Glorious things are spoken of you,
O city of God.    Selah.

אַזְכִּ֤יר ׀ רַ֥הַב וּבָבֶ֗ל לְֽיֹ֫דְעָ֥י הִנֵּ֤ה פְלֶ֣שֶׁת וְצֹ֣ר עִם־כּ֑וּשׁ זֶ֝֗ה יֻלַּד־שָֽׁם׃

I mention Rahab^cRahab A primeval monster; here, a poetic term for Egypt; cf. Isa. 30.7. and Babylon among those who acknowledge Me;
Philistia, and Tyre, and Cush—each was born there.

וּ֥לְצִיּ֨וֹן ׀ יֵאָמַ֗ר אִ֣ישׁ וְ֭אִישׁ יֻלַּד־בָּ֑הּ וְה֖וּא יְכוֹנְנֶ֣הָ עֶלְיֽוֹן׃

Indeed, it shall be said of Zion,
“They^dThey I.e., the nations of v. 4, or their members. were all born there.”
It is the Most High who will preserve it.^eIt is the Most High who will preserve it Or “[God] will preserve it supreme.”

יְֽהֹוָ֗ה יִ֭סְפֹּר בִּכְת֣וֹב עַמִּ֑ים זֶ֖ה יֻלַּד־שָׁ֣ם סֶֽלָה׃

GOD will inscribe in the register of peoples
that each was born there.    Selah.

וְשָׁרִ֥ים כְּחֹלְלִ֑ים כׇּֽל־מַעְיָנַ֥י בָּֽךְ׃ {פ}

Singers and dancers alike [will say]:
“All my roots^froots Lit. “sources.” are in You.”
