Regarding alleyways open at both ends, whose width does not reach 16 cubits, would it be possible to make an 'eruv', combining them into provide domains, and make it permitted to carry through them on Shabbat by means of a door-frame on one side, and a post and perpendicular protrusion on the other side?1This is the opinion held by the Rif Eruvin 2a Or is this not possible?2This is the opinion given in Tosafot on Eruvin 6b:2, named as the opinion of the Ri in Tur Orach Chaim 364.
