רבי שמעון בן יוחאי – תנא מדור השני של תנאים, ומיוחס אליו ספר הזהר, והיה נרדף ע״י מלכות רומי כמו ר״ע רבו, והיה נחבא במערה עם ר׳ אלעזר בנו י״ג שנה (שבת ל״ד.), ונשלח לרומא לבטל גיזרות המלכות מפני שהיה מלומד בנסים (מעילה י״ז.). גם מיוחס אליו איזה מדרשים כמו פרקי דרשב״י או נסתרות דרשב״י ותפלת רשב״י, שנדפסו ע״י יעלינעק בבית המדרש שלו.
