נבואת הילד: אשר חזה נחמן קטופא (או חטופה) על הגאולה ועל התמורה אשר יקרה ליהודה ולעמים באחרית הימים, והן חמש נבואות בסדר אלפא ביתא בחרוזים כמו שיר "הקדמות" לשבועות, ונאמרו בדרך חידה ורמז בלשון ארמי. והמחבר שם הנבואות בפי הילד נחמן קטופא כמתנבא בצאתו מרחם אמו וככלותו לדבר גוע וימות. ולכן מכונה קטופא כי נקטף בנעוריו, או חטופא כי חטפו המות.
The Prophecy of the Child: That Nahman Katufa (or Hatufa) Saw Regarding the Redemption and the Change That Will Occur to Judah and the Nations in the End of Days, and they are five prophecies in alphabetical order in rhymes like the poem "Hakdamot" for Shavuot, and they were said in riddles and hints in Aramaic. And the author puts the prophecies in the mouth of the child Nahman Katufa as prophesying when he came out of his mother's womb and as soon as he finished speaking he died. And therefore he is called Katufa (severed) because he was cut off in his youth, or Hatufa (snatched) because he was snatched by death.
