To the Moabites they appeared armed <for battle>. Thus it is stated (in Deut. 2:19): WHEN YOU DRAW NEAR THE FRONTIER OF THE CHILDREN OF AMMON, DO NOT TROUBLE THEM, [AND DO NOT PROVOKE (rt.: GRH) THEM.
