(בראשית מד, ל - לא) ונפשו קשורה בנפשו. א"ר חנינא בר אידו לפי שהוא אומר ויוצר רוח אדם בקרבו (זכריה י"ב א') צרורה בקרבו, שאלמלא כן כיון שהיתה הצרה באה עליו היה שמטה ומשליכה, שומע אני אף נפש יעקב כן, לאו, אלא ונפשו קשורה בנפשו, אם רוחו צרורה בקרבו ונפש בנימין קשורה בנפשו, כיון שתשמט נפש בנימין מאצלו אף נשמתו תהיה נשמטת, הה"ד והיה כראותו וגו', מיד ימות על צערו.
