The Third Beit HaMikdash · The Third Beit HaMikdash, Chapter 62

‹›
  1. 1

The verse cited previously1Yechezkel 41:5, cited at the beginning of sec. 61. continues, “The width of the side-chamber (צלע) was 4 cubits.” In the Second Beis HaMikdash, the parallel structure was 6 cubits wide.2As Middos 4:7 states: “The cell was six.”

  2. 2

There was a second side-chamber built on top of this side-chamber, and there was a third side-chamber built on top of the second. These were three of the 33 side-chambers that will be described in sec. 64.

  3. 3

The verse states that the side-chambers, “surrounded the House all around.” In sec. 64, these side-chambers will be discussed in detail.3See a depiction of the three levels of side-chambers on page 178.
