That we not work the land on the Jubilee year: That we not work the land on the Jubilee year, in the same way that we were prevented from its work on the sabbatical year. As it is stated about the Jubilee (Leviticus 25:11), “you shall not sow,” [just] like it is stated about the sabbatical (Leviticus 25:4), “your field shall you not sow.” And [just] like the sabbatical year is forbidden whether regarding the working of the land or whether regarding the working of the trees, so is [it with] the Jubilee. And therefore, “you shall not sow,” is a category that includes land and tree.
Its laws regarding working the land and the trees is like in the seventh [year]. And in Eem Kesef Talveh (Sefer HaChinukh 84), I have written a little of its matters to arouse the heart of the reader about the matters of the commandment, as is my custom. Look there if you desire it.
שֶׁלֹּא נַעֲבֹד הָאָרֶץ בִּשְׁנַת הַיּוֹבֵל – שֶׁלֹּא נַעֲבֹד הָאָרֶץ בִּשְׁנַת הַיּוֹבֵל, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנִּמְנַעְנוּ מֵעֲבוֹדָתָהּ בִּשְׁנַת הַשְּׁמִטָּה. שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר בַּיּוֹבֵל לֹא תִזְרָעוּ, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (ויקרא כה יא) בַּשְּׁמִטָּה, שָׂדְךָ לֹא תִזְרָע. וּכְמוֹ שֶׁהַשְּׁמִטָּה נֶאֱסַר בָּהּ בֵּין עֲבוֹדַת הָאָרֶץ בֵּין עֲבוֹדַת הָאִילָנוֹת כָּךְ הַיּוֹבֵל, וּלְפִיכָךְ אָמַר לֹא תִזְרָעוּ עַל הַכְּלָל יִכְלֹל אֶרֶץ וְאִילָן.

מִשָּׁרְשֵׁי מִצְוַת הַיּוֹבֵל, כָּתַבְתִּי בַּמִּצְוָה הַקּוֹדֶמֶת מָה שֶׁיָּכֹלְתִּי.

דִּינֶיהָ בְּעִנְיַן עֲבוֹדַת הָאָרֶץ וְהָאִילָנוֹת, כְּמוֹ בַּשְּׁבִיעִית וּבְאִם כֶּסֶף תַּלְוֶה (מצוה פד), כָּתַבְתִּי קְצָת מִן הָעִנְיָנִים לְעוֹרֵר לֵב הַקּוֹרֵא עַל עִנְיְנֵי הַמִּצְוָה כְּמִנְהָגִי, עַיֵּן שָׁם אִם תַּחְפֹּץ בּוֹ.
