And all of this applied in the time of the Talmud, but today, according to the consensus of the poskim, that one is not to say "I believe that man like two witnesses that do not lie," it is forbidden to accept his words in any instance, but only to suspect. And [even] without this, it is not common that all of the conditions mentioned in sections 5 and 7 are met. And from this you can see how many people err in this matter. They are heedful of the issur of speaking and of accepting lashon hara and rechiluth if they hear it from others, but not if they hear it from their fathers or mothers or wives, feeling that these certainly would not lie to them. And this is an absolute mistake, for there is no difference between this [and other instances].
