If Reuven demeaned Shimon before two, and one of them transgressed the issur of rechiluth and revealed the thing to Shimon, still, the second should take care not to reveal it to Shimon; how much more so, if he "enforces" the account, and he is called a talebearer because of this. And not only [is it forbidden] if he understands from Shimon that he is still in doubt about the [veracity] of the thing (as when Shimon asks him: "Is it true what your friend told me, that Reuven demeaned me before you?") in which case it is certainly forbidden to tell him; but even without this he should not tell him, for by his words he intensifies Shimon's hatred against Reuven, the story being more greatly emphasized if he hears it from two than if he hears if only from one. And sometimes they [Reuven and Shimon] will come to quarrel because of this second one, who re-arouses the rechiluth.
