צריך לעשות מעשיו בהסתר שלבני אדם נראה שהוא אינו חסידות. רק קודם שיבא למדריגה גדולה צריך לעשות מעשיו בגלוי שאם לא יעשה בגלוי כמו שעושין העולם רק ירצה בפנימיות להיות חסיד אפשר שיהי' נמשך אחר העולם ומתוך לשמה יבא שלא לשמה.
Hide your deeds so that it will not appear to others that you are acting in a way of piety-Chassidut. However, before attaining a high level of Chassidut, you should act openly, because if you do not, but instead openly act like the rest of the world, but inwardly desire to be a Chassid, it is possible to be drawn into the ways of the world. In such a case, your desire to serve for the sake of HaShem, can result in the opposite, that is, of not serving for the sake of HaShem.
