1הוֹכִיחַ אוֹתָנוּ מְאֹד לַעֲשׂוֹת מִצְווֹת הַרְבֵּה.The Rebbe often told us to do many good deeds.2וְהַנִּרְאֶה מִכַּוָּנָתוֹ הָיָה: שֶׁרְצוֹנוֹ שֶׁנִּהְיֶה עוֹסְקִים בְּמִצְווֹת גַּם כֵּן, דְּהַיְנוּ לְקַבֵּץ נְדָבוֹת וְלַעֲסֹק בִּגְמִילוּת חֲסָדִים וְכַיּוֹצֵא בָּזֶה.From the way he said it, it was obvious that he meant that we should do such good deeds as gemilat chesed (acts of kindness and favors to others) and collecting charity.3וְאָמַר לָנוּ בְּזוֹ הַלָּשׁוֹן: עֶפִּיס טוּט אִיר גָּאר קֵיין מִצְווֹת נִיט? (כְּלוּם אֵינְכֶם עוֹשִׂים מִצְווֹת כְּלָל?). וְכַוָּנָתוֹ הָיָה כַּנַּ"ל.He told us, “Epis tut ihr gar kein mitzvos nit – Perhaps you do no good deeds at all.”

The Rebbe often told us to do many good deeds.
