1אָמַר: אֶצְלִי הָעִקָּר הוּא רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה, וְתֵכֶף כְּשֶׁחוֹלֵף וְעוֹבֵר רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה. אֲנִי מַטֶּה אָזְנִי וְשׁוֹמֵעַ אִם מַכִּין בַּכֹּתֶל לְעוֹרֵר לִסְלִיחוֹת לַשָּׁנָה הַבָּאָה.The Rebbe said, “ For me, the main thing is Rosh HaShanah. “Right after Rosh HaShanah, I begin listening very carefully. I want to hear them knocking on the wall, waking people for next year’s Selichot.2כִּי אֵין שׁוּם זְמַן כְּלָל, כִּי כָּל הַשָּׁנָה חוֹלֵף וְעוֹבֵר כְּהֶרֶף עַיִן.“For the year passes and is gone in the blink of an eye.”
