The Rebbe said, “Un afilu as me-falt in a blutte arein, shreit men, un meh shreit un meh shreit – Even when one falls into mud and mire and it is difficult to get out, one screams and screams and screams.”202This quotation is most probably the fragment in Alim LeTerufah #337. The Rebbe then raised his hands slightly and said no more.
The Rebbe then spoke about the disturbing thoughts that often trouble a person in this area. He quoted the Talmudic maxim, “Trouble is bad enough when it comes” (Berakhot 9b), adding, “One should not be disturbed by this, before or after.”
