1א. צָרִיךְ אָדָם לִהְיוֹת נִכְסָף וּמִשְׁתּוֹקֵק לַטּוֹב הַכְּלָלִי, אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁיִּמָשֵׁךְ לוֹ לְבַד הֶפְסֵד.A person should hope and long for the good of the community, even though he himself stands to lose by it.
