לכו נרננה לה' נריעה לצור ישענו. לכו נרננה היינו בצירוף אומות העולם כי עכ"פ הש"י מחיה ומהוה אותם. לזאת צריכים גם הם לרנן, אבל אנחנו ישראל עמו, נריעה לצור ישענו בחצוצרות וקול שופר, משמחת לבב הנובע מעמקי הלב, משל למלך שעשה סעודת נשואין לבנו וזימן קרואים לסעודתו וכיבדם במאכל ומשתה, הנה שמחת הקרואים הוא בעבור הסעודה שעשה להם וכיבדם, אבל שמחת בנו הוא שמחה עצמיות.
“Let us go and sing joyously to God, and exult in the Rock of our salvation.” (Tehilim, 95:1) “Let us go and sing joyously to God” means together with the nations of the world, for at any event God gives them life and existence. For this, they too must sing joyously. But with us, His people Israel “exult in the Rock of our salvation” with “trumpets and the blast of the Shofar,” with intense joy of heart that flows from the deepest place in the heart. This is likened to a king who makes a wedding feast for his son. He invites all kinds of guests to the feast and honors them with food and drink. The joy of the guests is because of the feast that he made for them, and with which he honored them. But the joy of his son is joy from the deepest essence.
