    מכל פשעי הצילני חרפת נבל אל תשימני. פשעי היינו החסרון שנטבע באדם מבטן אמו כמ"ש (תהלים נ"א,ז') ובחטא יחמתני אמי, ואף כי בזה אין החיוב מצד האדם, אך כי הש"י ינהיג שלעתיד יהיה הכל לטובה לישראל ואפילו החטאים יתבררו לטוב, עכ"ז עתה אינו מפורש ועל הגוון יש קטרוגים על ישראל מהאומות, לכן אמר מכל פשעי הצילני וכו', ולכן בעגלה ערופה נאמר (דברים כ"א,ח') כפר לעמך ישראל.

    “Save me from all my transgressions, do not place upon me the shame of the boorish.” (Tehilim, 39:9)
    “Transgression” is the deficiency imprinted on man from his mother’s womb. This is as it is written (Tehilim, 51:7), “and my mother conceived me in sin.” This is not, however, an obligation from the side of man, for God will conduct everything in a way that all will have been for the good of Israel, and even the sinners will have been refined for the good. But still, it is not clear to us now, and at first glance there are great accusations from the nations against Israel. Therefore it says, “save me from all transgressions.”5This whole idea centers around the guilt we bear for our indiscretions. However, with the consciousness of redemption we can see that it is not even in our power to rectify sin, and our eyes are turned only to God to complete the process of refinement. This consciousness is, however, hidden from us, for we need to feel as if our own choices and actions effect the tikkun, repair of the soul.
