Under natural circumstances, when a person gives charity, he is lacking that which he gave away. However, due to the unity among tzaddikim he can give charity and not lack whatsoever. Likewise, due to this [unity] a person can genuinely sacrifice his life, and still it will not harm him; he will remain alive.
כְּשֶׁיֵּשׁ אַחְדוּת בֵּין הַצַּדִּיקִים, אֵין הַצְּדָקָה מַזֶּקֶת,
When there is unity among the tzaddikim, charity does not harm.
כִּי עַל פִּי הַטֶּבַע כְּשֶׁנּוֹתְנִין צְדָקָה, נֶחְסָר מֵאִתּוֹ מַה שֶּׁנָּתַן, אֲבָל עַל־יְדֵי הָאַחְדוּת שֶׁבֵּין הַצַּדִּיקִים יוּכַל לִתֵּן צְדָקָה וְלֹא יֶחְסַר כְּלָל. וְכֵן עַל־יְדֵי זֶה יְכוֹלִים שֶׁיִּהְיֶה לְהָאָדָם מְסִירַת נֶפֶשׁ בֶּאֱמֶת, וְאַף עַל פִּי כֵן לֹא יַזִּיק לוֹ, וְיִשָּׁאֵר בַּחַיִּים:
