1פִּדְיוֹןא. עִקַּר רְפוּאַת הַחוֹלֶה הוּא רַק עַל־יְדֵי פִּדְיוֹן. וְלֹא נָתְנָה הַתּוֹרָה רְשׁוּת לָרוֹפֵא לְרַפְּאוֹת כִּי אִם אַחַר הַפִּדְיוֹן דַּיְקָא (עַיֵּן רְפוּאָה אוֹת ח'): (לק"ת סי' ג')REDEMPTIONWhen a person is sick, a redemption is the prerequisite of any cure. Only after the redemption has been made does the Torah give the doctor permission to cure (Likutey Moharan II, 3).
