השוכן אתם בתוך טמאותם. ביאר מורי זלה"ה מופת מובהק שהגאוה קשה מן החטא, כי בכל הטומאות והחטאים כתיב השוכן אתם בתוך טמאותם, משא"כ בגסי הרוח, דרשו בש"ס פרק קמא דסוטה (ד"ה. ע"א) אין אני והוא יכולין לדור בעולם שנאמר (תהילים ק״א:ה׳) גבה עינים ורחב לבב אותו לא אוכל, ודפח"ח: (צפנת פענח סו"פ יתרו דע"ו ע"ד, רשפי אש פ' בשלח אות ל"ד).
And he shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so shall he do for the tent of meeting, that dwells with them amidst their impurity. (ibid. 16:16) My Master showed a clear proof that pride is worse than sin. Regarding all sins and impurities, the verse states “[He] dwells with them amidst their impurity.” However, about the arrogant, the Talmud expounds: “He and I9I.e.
