באמת על ידי השבת יכולין להתחזק להשאיר הארת השבת גם בימי המעשה, כמ"ש בשם הרב הבעל שם טוב ז"ל על מה שדרשו חכמינו ז"ל (ביצה דט"ז ע"א) וינפש כיון ששבת וי אבדה נפש, וקשה דזה אין מקומו לכתוב בשבת, ופירש שעל ידי שאדם זוכר זאת שאחר שבת יסתלק ממנו הארה זו, לכן מתדבק בה ביותר: (שפת אמת למרן ז"ל פ' תשא תרל"ז, ראה דכ"ח ע"א). ובשם הבעש"ט כתבו כי נכתב זה בשבת, שעל ידי שיודעין זה בשבת כי בחול ניטל זה, משמרין יותר יום שבת, שלא לילך בטל בעת מצוא הנשמה יתירה המסייעת לעבודתו ית"ש: (שם פ' תשא תרל"א).
Really, by means of the Shabbat, we can hold onto the light of the Shabbat even during the week, as Chazal said: “Vayinofash – Since it is Shabbat, Oy, how I lost my soul!” Although Shabbat is not the proper time to mention this, by realizing that after Shabbat this light will leave us, we will cling to the Shabbat even more. Sefas Emes, Ki Sisa 5637, p. 28a When a person realizes on the Shabbat that [his extra soul] will leave him during the week, he observes the Shabbat even more, so as not to waste the precious time when he has an extra soul to help him serve G‑d.
